On March 20, 2020, Animal Crossing: New Horizons was released for Nintendo Switch. Several releases and spin-offs were launched across some Nintendo platforms through the years, keeping much of the core gameplay elements of the original. It was ported to the GameCube a few months later. The game was first known to the world as the Nintendo 64 title Animal Forest on April 14, 2001. You play as a human living in a village of anthropomorphic animals while watching plants grow, catching fish or bugs, digging up fossils and, getting along with your neighbors.
